I Love/Crave/Miss NYC

I recently came back from a long weekend trip to NYC and I wish I was still there.

Throughout my life, I’ve easily gone to New York City about 15 to 20 times. Most of these odysees, however, were when I was a child. And to be frank, most of the time was spent in family members’ living rooms in Brooklyn. In the past year or so, I’ve been able to experience other boroughs. I took a girls’ trip to the Big Apple with some of my girls (and one man), and it was excellent. New York City, Manhattan in particular, has an energy that I can’t even describe. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about. It’s sensory overload – all the lights, all the sounds, all the food, all the culture … I could go on for days. So much in such a small island. New York isn’t for everyone, but if you’re anything like me and feed off the constant hustle, you’ll fall in love. At some point at my life, I need to live in this city, even for just a couple of months. Even though I was in Manhattan for less than a week, it took a while for me to acclimate back to Toronto life. And Toronto is no sleeper city, not at all. There is just something about New York that captures a part of my heart. As I write this post, I’m wishing I could teleport myself back there right now! If only that could happen. Until 2014.

  1. I love NYC too, I’ve always been a citygirl. I wanted to go to NYU but after realizing tuition was $50,000 per year (before rez), I quickly re-thought about my university plans, lol. I’m going twice next year, don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the big apple! Looks like you had an awesome time 😀
